This fortress was built in 1540 to protect the city from Portuguese attacks.
This majestic site, perched at an altitude of 236 meters, has been the subject of much attention from public authorities and civil society.The ramparts were rebuilt following ancestral traditions under the supervision of the anthropologist architect Salima Naji. The interior of the Kasbah is currently being redeveloped.
